I had an experience the other day which I decided to write about. I moved to the US from Kosova in 2009, and I have been a happy homeowner since 2012. I am very proud of my little piece of land here in America and I want to do everything I can to make sure it is the best home it can be. This includes making it the best possible home for my family (my daughter was born in 2010, so i just now reaching the age of the “toddler”).
I’ve done a bunch of home improvement on the house in the few years I’ve been here, including setting up a garden in the backyard, replacing the wooden siding, fresh paint shops and replacing concrete. This is most apparent when you view the house from outside, as it is having been a few years and the big change is already quite apparent. A before and after photo would be amazing, although I couldn’t bring myself to take a picture of it looking so dilapidated.
Now that my daughter is started to get a bit older, I decided to bring together some ideas for making some improvements that she would enjoy. I doubt she cares very much about a new set of aluminum siding or a new washer-dryer combo. Everyone knows the theory of how kids like the box more than the toy that came in it, so I was wondering what I could actually get her that she would enjoy?
Playground in our Backyard, a Kid’s Dream
On my way to the supermarket one day I was driving down the road passing by some of the brilliants houses in Mercer County, NJ. I admire much of these houses and strive to make mine similar. Mine certainly didn’t cost as much but I will be damned if it isn’t as beautiful. While passing by it I saw many of them had to big, large swing sets in the yards. Boom, I thought, a perfect fit for my daughter. She’s a good age for it, and we have a big enough backyard for it (thankfully), so as soon as I got home and unloaded the Trader Joe’s bags I was online researching a proper playset for my girl.
It turns out that swingset installation Services in new jersey are rather common, there are several companies (including the one example I link to) that do this same service. I’ve had bad experiences with contractors and handymen before (I think everyone has) so I wanted to make sure I’ve gotten the best one possible for my dollar. Thankfully I believe I have, Tri-State was a breeze to work with and they set up my swing set in no time. As I said in the title of this article, they were the best installation company I could have hoped to work for, and I really do appreciate them and all the hard work they did, bravo to them.
So now I open the floor to any readers that might be out there. I’ve brought the playground to our home, now what might be some other options for improving my home for my young daughter? She seems to enjoy the house just fine, but I really want to make sure I’m doing everything possible to insure that her childhood is a good as can be. Maybe a treehouse? A canopy bed? Something princess-y? I don’t know exactly, but hopefully you can give me some ideas. I would love to here it!
You can e-mail me the ideas at firstname.lastname@example.org, or post them in the comments!
